Heart Check Tuesday 27 August 2019
In the office environment, your job description determines the nature and amount of work required of you. The value you bring to bear equally determines what you get from your employer.
No employer would give you more than what they have stated in your offer of employment offer letter especially in light of limited resources, for this very reason you might be short-changed, but not so in the economy of God.
God is an unlimited God; He owns everything. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein … (Psalm 24:1,2). The cattle upon a thousand hills are His (Psalm 50:7). He is Source of all things and by His system of mercy and grace, He is able to give rewards to those that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
The things He gives are not entirely quantifiable as they are not all material; they also include immaterial things; hence, we say that these things are rewards. The blessing of Abraham which he received from God cannot be entirely quantified as there were both material and immaterial things to show for them. For example, the blessing was so much on him that he went to battle against 5 kings with 318 men trained in his house and he defeated them all with spoils (something material) to show for it (Genesis 14).
God made His ways known to Moses which can produced acts (salaries) that were shown to the children of Israel (Psalm 103:7).
Your job through your employer pays salaries but God through His inexhaustible resources gives rewards!
